About me
Hello, my name is Kendra Schiley, and I am a 2027 graduate, junior, at Tumwater high school. Softball has been a major part of my life for 10 years, and I can't imagine my life without it. I currently play short-stop, third-base and outfield for Elevate NW - Black 16u, where I am always working to improve my skills, support my teammates, and compete at the highest level. For high school last year I was on JV as their lead-off batter and starting shortstop. I received my JV letter as well as my certificate for participating in the WAIA 2A State Championship and was nominated for having the best attitude on our team. Whether I’m at practice, in the gym, or playing in a big game, I bring passion, dedication, and a strong work ethic to everything I do. I moved to Tumwater, Washington from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, where as a freshman I played on varsity as their starting right-fielder and lead-off batter; I ended up lettering my freshman year of high school. A goal I have had for the longest time is possibly playing in the Olympics at some point. When I can no longer play, coaching a softball team of my own to show them why and how much this game has changed me. I would love to be able to show and help evolve the new generation of young ladies who want to play softball. Beyond softball, I enjoy volleyball, snowboarding, hikes, and swimming, which help me stay balanced and push me to grow in different ways. Whether it’s going down a hill on my snowboard or spending time with friends and family, I always try to bring the same energy and focus that I do on the field. Academics are also very important to me, my sophomore year, I was in 2 college level classes, Culinary and AP World History, and I plan to continue my education while playing softball at the collegiate level. This year I am in three college level classes, Nutrition 101, Pre-Calculus 141 & 142, and Natural Resources and Ecology, as well as two AP classes, AP Language Arts and Composition and AP US History. I am interested in studying Marine Biology. I have always wanted to get a better understanding on how the weather affects the ocean and its creatures, as well as, saving the ocean life from dangerous environments and releasing them back into the wild. My goal is to find a school where I can thrive both athletically and academically, surrounded by teammates and coaches who push me to be my best. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and be a part of my dream!
