Hi my name is Emmery Thompson. I attend White River High School and I am apart of the graduating class of 2028. I play for Elevate Black, based out of Lynwood, Washington. Where we receive excellent coaching for skills, strength, and leadership. I am a catcher, 3rd baseman, 1st baseman, and sometimes outfield. I started my softball journey when I was 8, at that time I was also playing soccer. Juggling 2 sports that young was really rough, my mom eventually said I need to choose between soccer and softball. I really liked softball over soccer so that’s what I chose, and if I had the chance to go back to the moment, I would still pick softball. My sport has taught me tons. How to be resilient, how to be strong, have perseverance, and how I can better myself as a player and person. But it has also given me tons. Amazing friendships, opportunities, and coaching. My ultimate goal is to attend college on an athletic scholarship or academic scholarship. Overall, the biggest lesson I’ve learned through softball is no matter how skilled of a player you are, how many colleges are looking at you, how many metals you may have, being a good person, a good teammate, a good player, changes the whole game. One last thought I will put that has personally affected me as a player but also I grew from as a player, mindset can be your biggest strength or your biggest weakness.
